Surface Plates and Tables serve as a precision reference base for inspection, tool making, gauging, spotting marking and layout operations.  Surface Plates supported on suitable stands called Surface Tables and enable proper leveling of plate and help provide the top surface at a convenient working height.

  •  Straight Edges are widely used for setting up and leveling machinery and for checking and spotting bearing surfaces during hand-scraping operations.  Properly supported, they may be used with various indicating devices to check surface flatness of large machined ares.

The Table is set manually to the required tilt and is locked in the set position by means of two locking clamps held with bolts.
